Clean-up at Sutarwadi Park

Today, my brothers Aadit, Arjun and I, along with our parents and uncle went to clean the Sutarwadi Park. It is a beautiful place if it wasn't littered with plastic!

We wore gloves and masks and carried two big garbage bags with us. The park was littered with glass, plastic and paper. Some dirty disgusting people had even thrown sharp blades there.

There were lots of people in the park. There were some kids playing football as well as some adults sitting in the park and chatting. They all saw us working hard, but nobody offered to help. It was very disappointing.

We spent almost one hour in the park cleaning. We collected two garbage bags full of chips packets, empty plastic bottles, broken glass pieces and thermocol. We disposed of the garbage in the bin in our society.

I have a mindbender for you.

At the park, we saw a broken piece of thermocol. It had something written on it. Can you guess and type what do you think was written on it?

What is KICK

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ananya and I am eight years old. I want to tell you about KICK.

KICK stands for Keep India Clean Kids.

It is a club that I started with my brothers Aadit and Arjun and my friend Yuvraj.

Our objective is to keep our city clean. We will start with our society and continue on to outside places. Everyday, we will clean up one part of our society by taking a garbage bag and a broom. We will sweep roads, gather all dry leaves and use them for composting. All the dry garbage will go in the garbage bin.

We will also make works of art using left-over waste such as scrap paper, dry leaves etc. We will try to do at least one art project a week and we will upload pictures of our creations.

We are doing this to help in the mission #SwachhBharatAbhiyaan and to keep our city and country clean.

We don't like littering because it pollutes the country and it looks disgusting and if animals eat the plastic, they can die.

We also take oath that we will not throw plastic on the roads, we will switch off the lights when we don't need them and we won't waste water. We can also do the three Rs which are Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.

Hope you will join us.
